Story
Thanks for visiting - any donations much appreciated!
In May, I'm doing the Fred Whitton Challenge (see here). It's a cycle ride of 112 miles in the Lake District, including the main passes. That amounts to 3800m of ascent over the course of the day, which will be quite a challenge. I did the course last September in 9:42:50 with a few breaks, and this year I'm hoping to improve on it.
I'm raising money for Macmillan's for a couple of reasons. Firstly, the "Fred Whitton" associated with the route was a Lake District cyclist who died of cancer, and the organisers ask that riders raise money in his memory. But also, my Dad died of cancer, and benefitted from the care given by this excellent organisation, and it's good to be giving something back. So, please support this effort, so that my suffering isn't in vain!
