I am undertaking a solo bike ride (19th July 2009) to raise funds in memory of my mum who lost a short battle with cancer in August 2008. All proceeds will go to "Willow Wood Hospice" who looked after her in the final weeks and made a very difficult time bearable for all. The hospice like many others relies on you & I to raise funds to keep up their valuable work, so anything you can spare will be much appreciated.

The ride will be from Blackpool back to the hospice in Tameside, which I estimate is 65-ish miles. I am in training as the last occasion I did something of this nature was about 14 years ago so I'm not underestimating the challenge for my 40 something year old legs.

21/08/09. Just a note to say I completed what I started and many thanks to all those who contributed. The ride took just short of 5.5 hours with the last third feeling like I was riding through a car wash. The weather was not kind in the M/cr area on Sunday. Attached are a couple of pictures to testify.
