Cameroon Catalyst is a student driven international development charity promoting sustainable development in rural Cameroon. We bring together students and specialists to deliver essential infrastructure projects in some of the least developed communities in the country.

Story

Cameroon Catalyst works in eastern Cameroon, where only half the population has access to clean water and 26% of the population are in chronic poverty. This year the aim is to get 10 wells constructed, supplying water to 3000 people.

Project sustainability is one of our key priorities. Along with constructing our research led designs, we will also train the local communities to maintain and manage these pumps, so that they continue to work for years to come. This on the ground work will be done by our intern, who will be living out in Cameroon over the next six months, and the future success of the wells will be monitored by the charity Mosame Trust, who have a permanent presence in one of the local villages.
