The Lullaby Trust exists to keep babies safe and to keep grieving families supported. We fund life-saving research, empower families with expert baby safety advice and support grieving families through their darkest days. We won’t give up until no baby dies suddenly or unexpectedly.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am raising money for the Lullaby Trust this year and, amongst other events, looking to complete the London Marathon on Sunday 26th April.

I am raising money for this particular charity following the extremely sad, and sudden, passing away of Dexter James Cook, the much loved son of a family friend, aged just 1 year and 25 days old.

The Lullaby Trust provides specialist support for bereaved families, promotes expert advice on safer baby sleep and raises awareness on sudden infant death. Working with the NHS they run a national health-visitor led service for bereaved parents and a Care of Next Infant (CONI) programme, which supports families before and after the birth of their new baby.

The Lullaby Trust are committed to supporting research to understand why 600 babies a year die suddenly and unexpectedly in the UK and to find out more about how to prevent these tragic deaths. With your kind donation, they will be able to continue their fantastic, and much needed, work.

£5 could provide a Bereavement Support pack, helping newly bereaved parents at a difficult time by providing information on support, the experiences of other parents bereaved by sudden infant death and practical information too.

£15 could provide one hour of helpline support from trained bereavement advisers. The helpline is free to all who contact them in need of support.

£25 could pay for the support of a trained Befriender for a family, offering them vital listening support from someone who is also bereaved.

£50 could give a family of 4 the chance to attend one of their Family Days Out, helping them meet other bereaved families. Family Days Out are held at local family venues, where everyone can get together and have a day out, remembering the babies who have died and meeting other bereaved families.

Both the Lullaby Trust and I would be extremely grateful for any donation you could possibly make, whether it be a little or a lot.

Many thanks in advance for your support, it is much appreciated.
