Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. As a family we are very proud of our little boy Rhys and his determination despite his challenging start to life. Within 6 weeks of his birth we found out he had been born with hearing loss which has sadly got progressively worse. We have recently been told Rhys is now profoundly deaf.

We as a family are now on a long journey to discover what we can do to give him access to sound to enable him to speak.

During this journey we have met some remarkable individuals and are working with charities who have opened our eyes to the opportunities that exist.

The particular charity I have chosen to raise money for is the Auditory Verbal Therapy charity.

This charity works with children of various ages to help develop their listening skills to maximise the use of the hearing levels they have.

The charity itself is non-profit making and as such all monies raised are invested to help support children and their families in what is an intensive programme over a 3-4 year period.

I would really appreciate you sponsorship to help this worthwhile charity who we hope will assist us in giving Rhys the opportunity to access the sounds which we all take for granted.

Thank you

Richard and my little star Rhys.
