Over 1.5 million in the UK have endometriosis and the impact of the disease is for some devastating, yet diagnosis takes on average 8 years. With your donations we are turning this around, raising awareness, providing support and information, supporting research, and campaigning for change.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Due to eveyone's superb generosity I have already exceeded my original target of £350. So I've set a new target of £500.

The support really does mean alot.

As most of you will be aware I have completed a few endurance events over the last couple of years, including a couple of marathons.

Apparently though none of this was painful enough, and on the 30th April I will find myself at the start of the "Highland Fling"; which is a 53 mile, multi terrain, ultra run along the West Highland Way, from Milngavie to Tyndrum. Mostly run on trails, forest tracks or farm roads, only about 4 miles are run on tarmac, with a 13 hour time limit. http://www.highlandflingrace.org/

I am running to raise money for Endometriosis UK, as a close family member has had her life turned upside down by this condition and has used the services of this charity, who are committed to providing much-needed support and information for anyone affected by this common, but often unheard of, disease.

I realise that we are in the middle of a recession and that things are tight financially at the moment, but any sponsorship would be gratefully recieved and will go a long way to motivating me during the tougher parts of the race.

Oh and if you get the chance; say a wee prayer for the sun to go away!

Much appreciated

Richard
