Mission Success! We all crossed the finish line, Canoe in tact and smiles all round, a whopping finish time of 5hours24minutes.
AMAZING EXPERIENCE !!!!!
We just want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to all of our supporters - our friends - our sponsors - our families and last but not least the Virgin London Marathon Crowd!! Without you none of this would have been possible, thank you - thank you - thank you - We smashed our target of £3,000 and sponsors are still coming in - its not too late if your reading this !
WE WILL BE BACK NEXT YEAR - perhaps a Mark 2 Canoe will appear on the television screens next year so watch this space.
All the best & keep smiling :-)
My Uncle Bob created this FANTASTIC canoe last year in order to raise money for charity in the London marathon with my Dad John. Unfortunately due to unforseen circumstances this was set back and I am now taking on the challenge with Bob and our spotter Simon (the guy we need in order to prevent us from running into people)! We all need your support in raising £3000 for the Childrens Trust charity, who do brilliant work throughout the year for children with brain injury.
The photos shown are from our test run at the Silverstone half marathon which we completed in 2hours 20minutes...Oh and did i mention we were aiming for sub 5 hours for the full marathon in order to get a guiness world record (we aren't crazy honest) ;-)
Thanks everyone!! we shall see you at the finish line!!
