Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Dubbed ‘the toughest footrace on earth’, the gruelling Marathon des Sables is a six-day, 155 mile (250 km), ultra-marathon in the Moroccan Sahara. Competitors must carry all of the food and personal belongings they will need to last the entire event.

Sandstorms, venomous snakes and spiders are common. Water is rationed and temperatures often reach 120°F (48°C). The terrain is mostly rocky, uneven ground but 15-20% of the course covers massive sand dunes. check out the video to see what its all about.

It will also be possible to send me an email message between the 28th March & 3rd April, so if you fancy sending me some support, news, footy results or even some abuse! go to www.darbaroud.com and look for the "écrire aux concurrents/write to competitors" section and you should be able to send me a text only message (no pictures/attachments), This section doesnt go live untill the race starts (3rd)
