3 Peaks Challenge · 8 August 2009

Dr Kershaw's Hospice provides free, specialist, end-of-life and palliative care (an area of healthcare that focuses on relieving and preventing the suffering of patients) for adults with life-limiting illnesses in Oldham and its surrounding areas in a peaceful and homely environment.

Story

Dear All.

I am here with a request.

I, along with a group of like minded Plumbers & Heating Engineers, are attempting a feat of great mental and physical exertion.

We are attempting the “3 Peaks Challenge” on the 8th & 9th August 2009.

This will involve Ben Nevis, Scafell and Snowden, one after another!

For those who know me well, I am not regarded as an Olympic level athlete. I have however been in training over a number of months to ensure I have a good chance of attaining my goal.

We are attempting this feat in order to raise much needed funds for Dr Kershaw’s Hospice.

You may not be aware but I recently lost my Mother in Law, who spent her last days in the superb care that is provided by the hospice. I am attempting this for her memory as well as raising funds for the hospice who look after all the patients with so much care, devotion & understanding.

My goal for fundraising is £1250-00. I appreciate in these economic times that money is scarce but I would ask that you consider sponsorship of me for this very worthwhile cause. I won’t let you down!

A big thank you to all who have donated to date, please keep it coming!

Yours in appreciation,

Richard (Edmund Hillary) Perrins.
