Story

On June 19th a bunch of folk from Boots will be marking the 170th day of Boots' 170th year by cycling 170 miles in support of the company's charity partner Macmillan Cancer Support.

The plan is to ride a bit of a tour of London, and then up from London to Nottingham, the historic home and current support office location of Boots.

I first heard about the ride last month, and within days had gained "reserve rider" status (er, thanks Keiran). Today (7 June) I gained rider status by virtue of another rider having a meeting in London the day before the ride, and freeing up transport space for me and my bike (er, thanks Dave). So I'm a bit behind on the fund raising at the moment.

I did put a good ride in last weekend, just in case, so the legs should be fine. However I think we're going to be riding at quite a steady pace, so I'm a bit concerned about just how long we're going to be in the saddle. They said to bring lights, and we're starting just after dawn,..,.

Thanks for supporting our fundraising. Macmillan Cancer Support is here to help everyone with cancer live life as fully as they can, providing physical, financial and emotional support. So whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right right there with you.
