Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Having run a hat-trick of half marathon's now I have decide to bite the bullet, man up and run a full one!

I am delighted to say I have secured a place to run for Birmingham Children's Hospital in the 2012 Virgin London Marathon on 22nd April. I am extremely honoured to be part of the Birmingham Children's Hospital Team and will be training hard to make sure I don't let them, or the Children they help, down.

Despite the tough economic climate, I hope that the thought of me having to refrain from going to the pub and instead pound the streets of Birmingham in the wind, rain and cold will encourage you to make a donation. Having visited the hospital I have seen firsthand the great work that they do and am proud to be doing my small bit to help them.

Every year, over 225,000 sick children from across the UK are treated at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Many face incredibly difficult circumstances. Their stories of courage, determination and hope are truly amazing.

Their medical and nursing teams provide the best possible treatment and the very highest standards of care, but they want to do so much more for the children who rely on them.

Their charity's arm raises £3m each year to create modern and child-friendly environments; purchase state of the art medical equipment and fund research into the prevention and treatment of childhood illnesses.

They cannot do this without your help. By supporting me, and therefore Birmingham Children’s Hospital, you will be making a real difference to the lives of thousands of children and families, when they need it most.
