<p>In June I will be taking on the 3 Peaks; Ben Nevis, Snowdon and Scaffell Pike raising money for the Teesdale and Weardale Search and Mountain Rescue Team.</p> <p>This is my last opportunity to raise money for charity whilst at university, and I need to raise at least &pound;200 for the Mountain Rescue Team, so I would appreciate any donations big or small!</p> <p>The TWSMRT are funded entirely by public donations and they rely on events like this for a large part of their funding. The team are all volunteers and they do a sterling job operating a search and rescue service for County Durham.</p> <p>It's been a long time since I've done some serious, and I'm sure I would have found it easier aged 16, when I was about 2 stones lighter than now, but I've done some training and some running and am confident that I'll make it. I've not yet (touch wood) had to call out a mountain rescue team, but it is always reassuring to know that were I to get in a scrape, there are people who voluntarily do their best to help you. This is why it is important to support the MR teams around the country.</p>
