In a time when cut backs seem the order of the day there are hundreds and hundreds of children around the country who are denied the opportunity to attend a mainstream school.  Why, because the support they'd need cannot be funded by their local council.  Deaf children should not be stigmatised if we really are a modern, progressive and caring society.
