Big C, established in Norfolk in 1980, is your local cancer charity. Through our support, research, equipment and education, we make a difference to the lives of local people affected by cancer. Big C has four cancer support centres across Norfolk and we also provide support by telephone and online.

Story

<p>East of England Euro MP Richard Howitt will be swapping cold turkey sandwiches for the freezing North Sea in Cromer this Boxing Day to raise money for East Anglian charity &lsquo;The Big C&rsquo;.</p> <p>Richard Howitt MEP will be making a splash on Cromer beach as he and dozens of other hardy souls launch themselves into the icy sea for a bracing swim.</p> <p>The swim is to raise money for the Big C Charity, which operates throughout Norfolk and Waveney providing equipment to help diagnose and treat cancer as well as offering care and support to cancer sufferers.</p> <p>The Big C was formed in 1980 and is determined that local people should have access to the best treatment and care. In the thirty years since the Big C was established, over &pound;17 million has been raised. This money goes to:-</p> <p>&middot; Cancer equipment in our hospitals and across rural areas</p> <p>&middot;&nbsp;Support for those with cancer in the form of nurses, services, and their Centre.</p> <p>&middot;&nbsp;Care for those affected by cancer - such as Big C's Bereavement Group.</p> <p>&middot;&nbsp;World-class research carried out by Big C funded scientists.</p> <p>Please come along and support Richard if you are in Cromer on Boxing Day, but more importantly please use this page to sponsor him.</p>
