The mighty Kilimanjaro climb · 1 December 2011

Safe Child Africa fearlessly protects children in danger, including those accused of witchcraft. For many, only Safe Child Africa will fight to protect them.

Story

We have done it !!! We have both reached the top of Africa..

Rysia and I are now planning on doing the climb on 21 June 2012. We are back in training and ready to go.

In some of the poorest parts of Nigeria, where evangelical religious fervour is combined with a belief in sorcery and black magic, many thousands of children are being blamed for catastrophes, death and famine: and branded witches. Denounced as Satan made flesh by powerful pastors and prophetesses, these children are abandoned, tortured, starved and murdered: all in the name of Jesus Christ.

The charity Stepping Stones Works in partnership with local organisations in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria to build sustainable futures for some of the region's many disadvantaged children, including protecting, saving and transforming the lives of children who have been stigmatised as being 'witches'.

Since 2008 I have been devoted in helping Stepping Stones with fund raising.

Kilimanjaro at 19,340’ it is an extreme, high altitude climb. This will be a huge challenge for someone like me built for comfort rather than the challenges of Kilimanjaro; however I want to make a difference, and if it means climbing mountains then this is the path I will take. If you can help me by making a donation, on behalf of Stepping Stones thank you..
