Story

If those who know me are asked to describe me using a few words...... The following two words (be kind!) would be among them. Passionate, and Competitive. These are two of the reasons that I am throwing my all into becoming a Lytton Olympian, and with your help... To win a Gold medal!

So why the Lytton Players? Well they are a group that I feel very passionate about and have very much become a part of my family.

I first joined the Lytton Players as I was desperately missing taking part in my favourite hobby of amateur dramatics, which has always been a big part of my life from a very young age. It's the shared love for this hobby that has lead me to meeting my closest friends, including my partner Tom.

I had first became involved in drama and music in Wellingborough when I was at school, and this continued into my University years. After graduation a group of friends and I started our own theatre company, Act 2 Productions - where we successfully produced over 10 plays and musicals including one which we took to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2006.

After a few years of no involvement in amateur Dramatics, I moved to Stevenage and began the search for a new theatre family. Luckily my search didn't take me very far when I saw the Stevenage Lytton players were holding auditions for The Tempest in 2010. I was very fortunate to get a part in the play, and Since then I have been an active member of the Society - taking part in over 10 shows so far!

The Stevenage Lytton Players have been around since 1948, and as the leading Amateur Dramatics group in Stevenage has over 100 members with the heart of the society very much being the Theatre building in Vardon Road. But let's face it, the building has definitely seen better days. So the society has been trying to raise funds to re-build the theatre on the same site, or to find a new building to relocate to.

This is where the Lytton Olympians come in! We are all in the fundraising race to raise £1000 each to win a Gold medal and in the process helping to fund a new theatre building that we so desperately need to keep the society active in its own space. This small, elite group of fundraising athletes includes me! So I would very much approciate any contribution you can give, big or small to my Lytton Olympic campaign.

So, I'm asking for your help to become not only a Gold medalist, but be be the top of the Medal table! Yes my aspirations are high, but I know I can count on my family an friends to help get me there! I know I can count on you all.......
