Well it will exactly 2 years to the day that Mum lost her brave battle against Cancer when I try and run the Great South Run in 2014.

Carol, Sophie, Dad and I will all start the Great South Run, and whilst I am sure even at 69, Dad will be first home, I am looking forward to the challenge. It is 20 years since I last did the Great North Run, and whlist I'm not as fit as then, the last few months has seen me lose nearly 3.5 stone. My knees are shot however, and I have shin splints, but needs must (although everyone says I'm mad)

If things then go to plan, I am hoping to do the New York Marathon in late 2015 !

As ever, I am in awe of everyone who give so generously to charity. We live in difficult times, and even if you can't afford to give, then at least keep geeing up Carol and I to keep to our training schedules in 2014 / 2015 !

Whilst we have not beaten Cancer yet, every £1 you can afford, will be one step nearer beating this horrible disease.
