We are dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young cancer patients aged 13-24. We fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals and provide dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Sadly on 27th January 2017, one of our LBSS family, Ricki Bills, lost his battle with cancer. Ricki had such a huge impact on the LBSS society - so many people say that Ricki made them feel truly welcome in the society right from the start, he ran fantastic socials and trips during his time as social secretary and always encouraged others to get up and cheer each other on at competitions. From the points game and trips down to Wales to go surfing to countless games of Cards against Humanity and trips to Ocean, Ricki gave us some unforgettable memories.

Ricki truly was the life and soul of the party and, although his life has sadly ended, his soul lives on in the way we remember him. When I asked Ricki which charity he'd like us to support with our fundraising efforts, he said this of The Teenage Cancer Trust:
'The Teenage Cancer Trust do some incredible work and have really made my life a lot easier since I've been diagnosed too. It's crazy to see so many young people in such terrible situations and the TYA wards that have been set up seem to make a real difference to families and patients in difficult times."

Thank you in advance for any donation you can make. Cancer affects everyone, whether directly or indirectly, but we can make a difference to patients' and their families' lives at such a difficult time. Thank you x
