The Who
Myself and a group of guys from the gym I go to (Fit4It Hybrid Gym - Sheffield) decided to do the National 3 Peaks Challenge. There are over 30 of us doing the challenge.
The Charity
I have decided to support Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice here in Sheffield because of the amazing work they do and the support they offer to the entire family when they need it most. Check them out at http://www.bluebellwood.org/
The Challenge
We have to ascend and descend the highest peaks in Scotland, England & Wales. All within a 24 hour period. This involves setting off from the foot of Ben Nevis, way up in sunny Scotland(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ben_Nevis), at around lunch on Saturday morning. After climbing that, we have to drive down to The Lake District to Scafell Pike (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scafell_Pike) and climb and descent what many say is the toughest mountain in the challenge. Oh, and we'll be doing that in the pitch black of night. You know, just to make it that little bit tougher. From there it's straight over to North Wales so climb Snowdon (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snowdon).
The Stats
Overall, we will be driving over 1000 miles (umph!), walking about 27 miles (gah!) and ascending 3000 meters (that's almost 2 miles up in total, bloody hell!.
The Plea
Please please please give generously. If you don't want to support my chosen charity there are a good bunch of others which my team mates have to choose from. Take a look at https://www.justgiving.com/teams/fit4it for the myriad choice.
The Gratitude
Thanks a lot for taking the time to read my page. And thanks from, not just me, not just from all of our team, but from all of our chosen charities. Your help is greatly appreciated and will go towards so amazing causes.
