Ride for Jack

Ride for Jack · 17 May 2014
Jack Cain was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, atypical rhabdomyosarcoma recently and is now spending precious time with his family at Rebecca House. Jack is just 5 years old!!!
Jack is a very brave little boy, and all his family and friends are proud of his fighting spirit. This is obviously a devastating time for his family and all their family and friends want to support them.
Whilst at the Hospice, Jack is receiving the care and attention he needs and his family are receiving the support that they also need.
This story has really touched us and has upset us so much that we feel compelled to do something very challenging to try to raise a bit of money for the Hospice Isle of Man in recognition of the fantastic work they do in cases like this.
We didn’t want to do something easy to raise money – in fact we want it to be extremely painful.
Myself (Graham Mitchell) and my friend (Andrew Wright) have decided (here on the Isle of Man) to replicate a mountainous stage of the Tour de France. It will simply be called “Ride for Jack”.
The ride, criss-crossing the island’s highest peaks will see us riding approx 100 miles and will see us try to climb over 10,000 feet in a day.
We will be riding this Saturday 17th May so no time for any worthwhile training!
We know times are tough, but if you could dig deep, even if it’s the coppers in your pocket, then this will go a long way to helping the Hospice Isle of Man to continue looking after the likes of Jack and his family.
Thank you for your support.
