Hey everyone!

Thanks for supporting my cause, and taking the time to read this JustGiving webpage. Its really heartwarming to see so many of you interested in sharing my vision of improving the quality of education in rural Kenya.

For the rest of you who have yet to donate or are not sure whats happening, here's a quick update. I'm running a 100km Ultramarathon in Singapore in June to raise money for the Kenya Education Partnerships(KEP).

Im trying to raise £2100 by April, and have so far raised about half my target. All the money I raise goes to KEP, and their programme of investing in educational equipment in secondary schools in rural regions of Kenya. As part of KEP’s programme, I shall also be spending my summer in Kenya to ensure that the money which is raised is appropriately used on long term, sustainable investments, which directly benefit the children of the schools. These include textbooks, science kits, sports equipments and the like.

If you have yet to donate, please do. On average, a textbook in Kenya will cost £3. A donation of £30 will provide enough textbooks for a class of 20 to share between 2 students.

A donation of £10 will provide all the test tubes a class of 20 will need to perform practical experiments in science. A few working test tubes, Bunsen burners or school text books might not mean very much to us. But it could be the difference between a child who is able to make in into university and get a job in the city, and a child who doesn’t.

Every summer about £1500 is invested per school by KEP in resources.

It is KEP’s style of charity which yields direct results which makes me so keen to join them and raise money. I hope you too can see how meaningful this is, and donate towards this cause.

Till next time.
Much Love
Rishik
=)
