River Avon Clean-up -- a truly Rubbish Bank Holiday · 19 April 2014

The young people we work with need our help more than ever. They face challenges and may live in potentially harmful or disadvantaged environments. We use outdoor adventure and one-to-one support to empower them to fulfil their potential and lead positive lives in the future.

Story

On the Bank Holiday weekend (19/20 April), David Woolsey and I are embarking on an epic canoe journey from The Riverside Inn to The Jolly Sailor, there and back as many times as we can, to collect as much rubbish from the banks as possible, armed only with our canoes, some stylish marigolds and a litter picker!  We are doing this firstly as it makes us unhappy to see this beautiful area strewn with old coke cans and plastic, but also to fund raise for The Youth Adventure Trust, a children's charity that provide outdoor activities to disadvantaged children, to help them build confidence and self-esteem.

If you feel like helping out, please make a Just Giving donation and if you can, come along on the weekend and support/heckle us, or join us for a pint in The Riverside Inn on the Saturday evening to celebrate!
