Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

We were sitting in the main square in Gibraltar with family and friends one saturday afternoon, and we got onto the subect of Jamie. Paddy's son, Ben who is 8 yrs old, volunteered to swim round the Rock of Gibraltar for Jamie. "He's 8, i'm 40....can't let him do it on his own" me thinks - so being the gracious guy, i said i'd do it with him......turns out that its too dangerous to swim round the Rock (phew)....so the pool it is!! Now, i swim like a lead weight....but i can run....a little light shone over my head..."i know...i'll run a Marathon while he swims!!". Great idea.

Ive known John all my service career. Ben doesn't know him, but he still volunteered. Jamie is a little lad who deserves a chance. Its moments in life like that that make you think.

So the date is set - Saturday 1st September 2012, Ben is attempting to swim 4.66 Miles, possibly more, in the Pool while i run a Marathon at the same time.

Every penny you give will help Jamie in his battle against cancer - we understand that times are hard, but your money may make a real difference to his life - please, please give as much as you can afford.
