My story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My last 'long run' was 20 miles on 6 Feb 2011 - it took 3 hours and 17 mins so I am still cracking 10 min miles and on track for sub 4:30 if I can keep up the pace in the last few miles!

Whether you are family, friends, a colleague or a business please know both that I really appreciate your donation and also how much more difficult it makes it for me to back out of this ludicrous venture!

My marathon has something for everyone; the pleasant people out there will be happy in that I am raising money for a really worthwhile charity - The Oxford Children's Hospital (CHOX) which is also Allen Associates' chosen charity.  They do a fantastic job treating 65,000 children every year and I am running to raise money for new equipment .

The sadists will be happy knowing that I will be spending a great proportion of this winter's early mornings training in the cold, wet and dark!  Finally, and hopefully, I will be happy as I get reintroduced to my rib bones.

Seriously, many thanks for contributing; it's a big target and I really appreciate your support - to be honest this is one of those occasions when 'quantity' IS more important.

Think of the children! (only works for the pleasant people)
