Story

Its all done and dusted.

The comrades was totally awesome, it was as hard and as wonderful as everyone said it would be. I was running before the sun came up and I finished just before it set, it took 11 hours.

I'll be back next year for the UP run.

Thank you everyone who sponsored me, you're all amazing xxxxxxxxxxx

Well “The Virgin London Marathon's” done, I ran it in 3 hours 49 minutes. I wanted to be a bit faster but it didn't happen on the day.

A big thank you to everyone who's sponsored me so far. THANK YOU also to my whole family for putting up with me and to my adopted family for the day, "The Somarakis Family" who were my "kerb crew" once again.

Touch wood, no injuries. I ran a10k race yesterday and it all still seemed to be working fine. I'm going to run the Town and Gown 10k on the 16th and then I fly out too  on the 26th. I must admit I'm now getting a little bit nervous. (56 miles what was I thinking?)

Once again, thank you everyone for you kind support and I'll let you know how it goes.

Hello,

This year I'm doing two big races that I may never get the opportunity to run again so I'm going to see if I can raise some money for a good cause at the same time.

Sunday 25th April. The Virgin London Marathon, 26.2 miles of smiles.

It's the 30th consecutive year of the event, which is worrying because I can clearly remember watching the first race. I've run it before several times but its never easy and is one of biggest and best marathons in the world.

Sunday 30th May. The Comrades Marathon, 56 miles of tough South African terrain.

This one's been going every year for 85 years, its not so well known over here but its a massive event famous for the suffering it inflicts. (Why did I enter!!) Without doubt it's one of the toughest races going, it'll start at 5.30am and hopefully for me it will finish around 10 hours later, the organisers don't mess around If you fall behind pace you're out, so fingers crossed I'll be good enough on the day. I'll not only be running for charity I'll also be running for Great Britain (Very cool I thought)

The charity I've chosen to try and help is The PSP Association. Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, which is a terrible terminal brain disease that currently has no recognised treatment and no known cure, it affects 15000 people in the UK and this is the only charity that are helping sufferers. So if you can please give me some cash it will genuinely help.

THANK YOU

Rob
