My story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On Sunday  the 25th October this year, Leanne Frost , Lyndon Clark and myself will be setting out on our quest to run the Coventry Half Marathon in aid of a special charity.

So why the Helen Ley Care Centre for People with Multiple Scierosis.

I was invited to run for this worthy charity two years ago and was inspired to do so whilst speaking with a neighbour of mine who was suffering from this disabilitating illness. This person was living out a very normal life when suddenly without warning he was diagnosed with Multiple Scierosis, which dramatically changed his quality of life in many ways that we may take for granted. I have since learnt of many other suffers of this illness following my last run and feel honoured to be able to contribute again to this registered charity, that works so very hard to make a difference to the people affected, their carers and families.

The Helen Ley House is a 25-bed, single storey specialist respite care centre, located near to Leamington, for people with multiple sclerosis. It has the feel of a hotel with full nursing care. A stay at Helen Ley gives carers and families a break, thus enabling the person with MS to remain living in their own home in the community for longer. Each year the home cares for between 300 and 400 different guests on respite basis and relies on contributions made from the general public.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the Helen Ley charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thank you so very much for donating to the Helen Ley Care Centre (in-advance) :

Rob Clark, Lyndon Clarke and Leanne Frost.
