Beating the Bounds is an ancient custom which pre-dates the Norman Conquest. A group of old and young members of the community would walk the boundaries of the parish to share the knowledge of where they lay, and to pray for protection and blessings for the land. On the 20th September I am joining Lincoln MP, Karl McCartney, and others raising money for great causes in walking round the boundary of the Lincoln constituency. The challenge is to complete the walk (more than 32 miles no less!) in one day.
