Story
April Fools Update - I broke my leg! Whoops. The good news is my consultant said I can attempt the ride. The not so good news was he told me that...2 weeks ago. Wish me luck.
Why am I doing this?
I suspect you know the story. If not the full warts and all blog is here. I promise you and myself I will only raise money for breast cancer charities once a year. This is my effort for 2013.
The longest bike ride I've ever completed was London/Brighton. I did that ride three times, it's about 50 miles.
This London100 is essentially the Olympic road race route but with only a single lap of Box Hill. Once I'm sure is enough. In summary this is a proper ride unlike L2B which is leisurely.
I will need to get fit. I'm going to start (but probably not finish) with a mate or two who are proper fit cyclists. I've got until the 4th August when the ride is to put some miles in these legs. More than the 14 a day I cycle riding to work.
Sarah, Tobin, Jenna, Me and the rest of our family have been very lucky in our BC journey. Not everyone is. Breast Cancer Care helps out those that probably need more help than we did. Please give what you can.
I hope it means other can navigate those waters more easily if they're unfortunate enough to suffer a similar fate.
Thank you,
Rob.
