Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As you may have guessed I will be running in the London marathon next year as part of the Kids Kidney Research team.  Your support towards this is very important to my family.

To give some background on why Kids Kidney Research.  Our son Ethan was born with a congenital condition called Posterior Urethral valves (PUV).  This condition prevents outflow from the bladder and as a result causes increased fluid pressure within the kidneys.  Ethan lost one of his kidneys through this condition and his remaining kidney was left with significantly impaired function.

Thankfully at the moment Ethan is able to enjoy a normal childhood but as he grows this will likely become more of a challenge.  One of the projects funded by Kids Kidney research is to enhance the understanding of PUV's and improve the long term treatment of children affected by the condition.  The future of this project could be hugely important to Ethan and so it is equally important to me to facilitate this work the best I can.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
