Brighton Marathon 2012 · 15 April 2012 ·

We understand that navigating the complexities of limb loss and limb difference can be completely overwhelming. We provide excellent, FREE, accessible information and advice to empower all amputees and those with limb difference, and families and friends, to lead independent and fulfilled lives.

Story

Thanks for visiting this page whether it is to donate or simply to prove that I am actually doing this because you didn't believe me when I told you or had passed out through laughing too much....

Those of you who know me well will no doubt know that I am not your typical Marathon runner! Loving all forms of sport is one thing - actively participating is something completely different. Now is the time to redress that imbalance after a (far too) lengthy period of inactivity.

However, getting my mid-life crisis out of the way, this is also a fantastic opportunity to help someone else's life as well. I am running for the Limbless Association.

The Limbless Association provides information and support to the limb-loss community, supporting people of all ages and backgrounds across the UK. They offer support to individuals of any age, whether they are about to have an amputation or are already living with congenital or acquired limb-loss and offer assistance and information to carers, family members and friends if they require it. They also share my love of sport through their Sports+ programme.

Sports+ is the latest initiative from the Limbless Association to help, support, encourage and promote sports and fitness amongst the limb-loss community. It aims to provide information and access to as many different sports as possible and help amputees get involved in the sport of their choice.

The Association provides information and contact details for sporting associations and governing bodies, provides advice and access to sport after limb-loss, offers group fitness sessions and professional sports training and creates performance pathways, liaising with Paralympics GB, to help locate and encourage elite sportsmen and women. A brilliant charity that hopefully in this Paralympic year in London will show exactly what can be achieved!

Thank you again for taking the time to visit and read this and hopefully you're able to donate, if for no other reason than to make sure I do it!!

THANK YOU!

Rob

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
