Garden Re-Leaf Day walk · 18 March 2016

Greenfingers is committed to supporting children and families through the creation of magical gardens at children's hospices throughout the UK. All the Greenfingers’ gardens are unique and are created to help make life a little better for children and families in hospices.

Story

I'll be walking 20 miles around Theale carrying a plank.  Why?  Because 'theale' is a Saxon word meaning 'plank' and it makes it that much more of a challenge!

But that's not all!  Once I've finished the walk I will be made to walk the plank - and jump into the murky depths of the Kennet and Avon canal.

Why we are raising money for Greenfingers...

Here's a video (cut and paste to view) of Mark Wright at a Greenfingers garden in Essex - http://bcove.me/zqtju3xf - it's not to everyone's taste I know, but I think it's a great showcase for what Greenfingers do.  I'd love it if we could create more of these amazing gardens in Children's hospices.  Most hospices don't have a nice area for playing outside and the kids that suffer life limiting illnesses have to stay close to the hospice due to their condition.  Having somewhere special to enjoy with their families makes an unbelievable amount of difference, offering hope and providing a wealth of good memories during very difficult times.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. Honestly I tried siphoning it off into an offshore account but it's impossible.  Hehe
