We provide information & encourage research to support people affected by fragile X
Story
In April 2009 our son Kyle was diagnosed with Fragile X. At the time neither Yvonne or myself had any idea what Fragile X Syndrome was. Fragile X is a genetically inherited condition causing varying degrees of learning disability and developmental delay. It affects both boys and girls and is often accompanied by autistic like behavioural traits.
Those of you who know Kyle, know that he can be a real character. He is full of life, and doesn’t stop from the moment he wakes in the morning to the last minute when he goes to bed. Kyle is a very loving little boy, but can be very challenging. Kyle attends , where he has a place in the special needs class, and is very well supported by his teachers, and enjoys school very much. He loves swimming, playing outside on his scooter and looking after his dogs.
Our challenge is to now not only raise money for the Fragile X Society, but also to raise awareness of Fragile X.
The Fragile X Society is the only charity dedicated to individuals and families living with Fragile X syndrome - the most common cause of inherited learning disability. We are continually working to improve the quality of life for all people impacted by Fragile X.
