Earlier this year a friends whole world was turned upside down when her husband had a seizure, which was later diagnosed as a Brain Tumour
Neil is 41 and otherwise completely healthy, so this came as a complete shock to their family, as is the case for many brain tumour sufferers and their loved ones. One of the main feelings that the family have experienced is helplessness; the feeling that there is nothing that they can do to change the situation. One of the greatest sources of comfort has been the level of support that they have received from family and friends. Neil has recently completed Radiotherapy and at the time of the walk will be one month into Chemotherapy. He intends to fully complete the walk alongside all his favourite people.
The twilight walk is about 'doing something' practical to raise funds for a tremendous charity who are working hard to find a cure for this terrible condition. It is also about embracing the support of those around us and joining together to demonstrate our support for all those affected.
Originally from Wilsden, Neil has lived in Bradford all his life and has always enjoyed being part of his community. As a young man he played football for Thackley and Eccleshill , later going on to coach young people’s football. Later, when his own children, twins Isobel and Rebecca, came along he became involved in Thorpe Primary School, where they attended, and he was part of the Governing Body for a number of years. Now we are asking for the community to get behind him and pledge their support.
We are hoping to raise £500 as a family and contribute to a team target of £5000!
Thank you in advance
