Together with 19 colleagues from St. James's Place I am trekking to Everest Base Camp in April 2012 (18,200 feet)and in the process we aim to raise £500,000 for the St. James's Place Foundation which grants awards to smaller UK registered charites operating in the UK and abroad.
One member will then attempt the summit of Everest at 29,000 feet.
Our team comprises a mixture of boys and girls, some younger, fitter and/or more experienced trekkers than others, but we aim to work together over 3 weeks towards our twin aims of reaching Base Camp and raising funds.
We will trek by day and sleep in tea houses or under canvass experiencing a variety of terrains and extremes of temperatures along the way. We are funding the trip ourselves so ALL money raised will go to the Foundation and moreover will be matched pound-for-pound by St. James's Place itself.
