Virgin London Marathon 2010 · 25 April 2010 ·

We’re the National Deaf Children’s Society. We're the charity for deaf children with any level of hearing loss. Whatever the question or challenge, we’ll help find a way through. We believe in a world where anything is possible for deaf children.

Story

Such sweet dreams I was having, rich in succour and soft temptation.

I was crossing the Atlantic with Amelia Earhart, the wind ruffling our hair; I was climbing Everest with Sherpa Tensing, the cold biting our skin; I was feasting on roast goose with Henry VIII. My conversation was witty, I was an adventurer, a conqueror and a champion. I felt like the man in the razor adverts.

Then my alarm went off, I got up, tripped over my slippers, pulled on some shorts (probably the wrong way round) and went out for a run in the pissing rain. Why? Because I'm training for the Marathon.

On 25th April 2010 I'll be assuming the position on the starting line. Before then, I'm aiming to raise £1500 for the National Deaf Children's Society. It's a really worthwhile chairty, and any money you give will pay for essential care and support for deaf children who face barriers that most of us cannot even comprehend.

Massive thanks for your generosity which I'm sure will be prodigious. See you all soon.
