Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!

Macmillan is an unsung hero, who support thousands of people every year, to cope with the stresses and strains of dealing with cancer. A few years ago my late grandma was diagnosed with bowel cancer which turned her world upside down. It was a huge shock to all of us and at first we weren't really sure how we were going to get through it. Shortly after being diagnosed, she was told about Macmillan by my mother and she gave them a call. Right from day one she started to get the support that she needed which helped her to get through the hardest time that she had ever had to go through. She thought that after she had the cancer removed the help would stop but she was wrong. Even after the cancer had gone and she started to recover from the operation, she was still getting help from the Macmillan nurses to get her life back on track and to cope with the mental strains the ordeal had put her through.

So I have decided to do this challenge for my Nan and the nurses who looked after her when she was in dire need of help and didn't know which way to turn.
