Story
On September 26th, i'm taking part in the Lancashire Loop sponsored ride for the MS society. I'll be doing the 50 mile loop on the recumbent bike.
Why the recumbent?
After not knowing what was wrong with me for 2 & a bit years, i was finally diagnosed with Relapsing/Remitting MS in May '10.
Part of the ongoing problems has been a "sunburn like" feeling in my right arm and not being able to put too much pressure on it, i.e. riding a road bike. So thats how the recumbent came about. No pressure on my arms so i can get back riding again, which i was just starting to enjoy before things went "pear shaped".
So by taking part in the ride, i can help support the MS society, who provide a vital service to those affected by MS. Both nationally and locally, through their branch network, the MS society is constantly striving to improve the lives of people with MS and their friends and family.
I have to say a big thank you to Tim Norton from the Lancaster Cycling club for loaning me the recumbent to do the ride.
