Earlier in the year a good friend of mine Rob Jacob said he wanted to do something to raise money for my chosen charity in memory of my Dear Mum. Well, on Sat 13th Oct he will be jumping out of a plane from some ridiculous height with another friend of mine Dan Draper.

My dear Mum Jean sadly passed away on 1st February 2012 aged 65 after a 2 year battle with Ovarian Cancer.

Throughout her illness my Mum was so very brave and and was a real inspiration to her family and friends.  She will be sorely missed.

Ovarian Cancer (like all cancers) is a terrible disease and sadly too many cases are diagnosed too late to enable treatment to be effective.  Ovarian Cancer in the UK is characterised by:-

One of the worst survival rates in Europe

Low awareness and lack of understanding resulting in delays in diagnosis

Chronic underfunding - Investment is minimal compared with other cancers

A new generation of research scientists and specialist clinicians throughout the UK are willing and able to expand their work in developing new treatments for ovarian cancer if they can gain access to sufficient investment so that is where Target Ovarian Cancer comes in.  Please take the time to visit their website
