The Rugby Portobello Trust, part of the P3 Charity group, supports children and young people in North Kensington by offering a wide range of activities to help them achieve their personal best and to grow up to become independent adults who can play a full part in their local community.

Story

Hi everyone,

If you've found your way to this page you probably know that by now that I am running the marathon for some truly great causes. Two of the main ones are to beat my friends and better my previous times. However, at the same time I have decided to run for the Rugby Portobello Trust. They are a charity that give a chance to young people under the age of 25 (so you can rest assured that it a selfless act of no benefit to myself) who haven't had any opportunities in life. They provide them with learning programmes and other activities all with the one focus of allowing them to break a cycle of despair and make a valid contribution to society as a mature independent adult.

I would be extremely grateful for anything you can spare (it's been nearly two years since my last sponsorship begging email and I know that most of us earn more money than we use to) so please dig deep and donate now!

On a personal note I have run two marathons before and managed to get round without much training at all - this time I am really putting in the hard yards/miles to pull a time out of the bag that I can look back at and think it is respectable if not competitive - so if you'd like to donate something extra or split your donation on an incentive basis of me hitting my target time of 4hrs10mins or less I am more than happy for the added incentive.

Thank you very much and wish me luck!!
