Story
In the spring, I helped organise a screening of the documentary film "Unrest", and it became clear in the Q&A afterwards that funding for reseach into ME lags well behind the amount of money available for more high profile causes.
My mum has been living with ME since the 1990s and in that time very little progress has been made towards finding an effective treatment. ME receives a tiny amount of funding to look into causes and cures despite the fact that over 200,000 people in the UK have it. Most ME patients are unable to work full time and a quarter are completely housebound so it's an invisble disease, most people simply don't see the impact it has on the lives of people. I'll be trying to make a small contribution by raining money to help fund research that can help my family and friends who struggle with this disease.
