Sheffield Children's Hospital provide an exceptional service both caring for unwell and injured children, and conducting research to try and better care for and protect future generations. Unfortunately the building they occupy doesn't match the standards that they offer, and they are about to undergo a necessary extension to bring the facilities in line with the clinical expertise. They're also in the position whereby if they do not improve their facilities, they may lose some of their government funding, so it's critical this extension is build. It's a £40m project, and they need to find £20m themselves.

This is our attempt to put more cash into that pot. Granted we're not going to get anything more than a drop in the ocean, but if you put enough drops together you end up with a puddle, you put enough puddles together you end up with a stream etc etc etc.... voila, an ocean, (substitute drops for bricks, streams for rooms, oceans for building if that's too abstract...)

So... to please add your drops (of cash!) to this worthy cause. To try and encourage you 17 of us will be cycling the Coast to Coast challenge over 2 days. 140 miles of pain from Whitehaven to Tynemouth. Not only that, but we're doing it in September, so we'll be contending with wind, rain, and if this year continues on it's current course....snow (hopefully not!).
