Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page.
I successfully completed the St Bees to Robin Hood's Bay 190 mile Coast to Coast Walk on Monday 26th July 2011 and not only did my old legs hold out, I suffered not a single blister! (I was however savagely attacked by a tiny terrier....)
Having this cause to spur me on was an undoubted help during the 14 day solo walk and I have been overwhelmed by all the messages of support, the amount of donations and especially, the number of donors - thank you all.
My chosen charity, the Epilepsy Society, undertakes pioneering research and provides expert care. Some facts about epilepsy from the Epilepsy Society's website:
- Around 75 people are diagnosed with epilepsy every day.
- Epilepsy is most common in children and those aged over 65
- There are around 456,000 people in the UK who have epilepsy. That’s about one in every 131 people.
- There are over 40 different forms of epilepsy - only about 3-5% of people with epilepsy will be affected by flashing lights.
For the avoidance of doubt, I funded all the costs of this jape so everything raised here goes to the Society.
