I will also be riding to & from the event giving a total of 100 miles in a day.

Quick update, weekend training went well, managed 80 miles on the bike & 12 miles walking.

Hope to fit at least 150 miles in during the week on the bike.

Excellent training ride tonight, 45 miles in 2 hours 29 mins.

Bit of down time this week due to a blowout on the rear tyre.

Took the chance to purchase two new Michelin Pro3 tyres for the bike....what a difference they make !!

Hoping to get a good ride in over the weekend to make up for the lack of practice this week.

Great weekends riding, managed to get 108 miles in. a 43 mile run with the cycle club on Saturday morning, & a 65 mile run on Sunday.

 

Many many thanks to everyone who has sponsored me for this event, managing to reach the £100 target with still a week to go is a great achievment & I'm hoping there's still a bit to go.

Would also like to say a very special thank you to my fiancee Ann who has offered so much support to me during the last few weeks & put up with me while I've been out training & generally being otherwise engaged in stuff !  Love you.

Great day, completed my 100 miles in 5 hours 44 mins with an average speed of 17.9mph.

Finished 5th overall which exceded all my expectations !!

 

Weather was good, little on the hot side (29c) but managed ok.

Congratulations to all the other riders who completed the course....roll on next year !!
