Story

We'd like to thank you for coming to this site to make a donation to St Benedict's Hospice in memory of Bob and Maureen Harding.

A little bit about Bob and Maureen.

Bob was born 2nd November 1937 in Sunderland, Maureen two years later on 8th August 1939.

They first met through Maureen's brother Jimmy when Bob was 11 and Maureen 9. Their friendship developed into love in their teens and they spent the rest of their lives together. Bob’s hot head and Maureen’s softness was the perfect balance to make this a relationship to be envied by everyone, until Maureen was sadly taken from us in 1995.

For several years before she passed away Maureen battled bravely against cancer and it was during this time that she and the rest of her family came to know the kindness and care of St Benedict’s Hospice.

Following Maureen's death Bob continued to support the Hospice with regular donations and he would be pleased to know that you now making a donation to support the fine work they do in his and Maureen's memory.

Bob passed away suddenly at home on 23rd October 2009, just 20 short days after the 50th Anniversary of their marriage and we take comfort in knowing that he and Maureen are once again together.

With love and thanks
The Harding Family
