RNLI volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour search and rescue service all around the UK and Ireland, while lifeguards keep a careful watch on the UK’s busiest beaches. RNLI lifesaving and drowning prevention depend on supporter fundraising and the generous donations that you and others give.

Story

Since 2013, acer UK has challenged technology journalists to get out of London and raise money for charity.

We've already conquered the Three Peaks and traversed the Outer Hebrides. This year we head southwest to the Isles of Scilly to raise funds for RNLI.

Over the course of a weekend,12 tech journos and the acer UK team will cross the five largest islands; St Mary's, Bryher, Tresco, St Martin's and St Agnes on foot, open sea swimming, kayaking and Coasteering. When not doing that we'll be cleaning beaches.
