Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Three years ago I was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa a degenerative disease of the retina which ultimately leads to complete blindness. At the moment there is no cure or treatment to slow the degenerative process. I am relatively lucky in that it developed fairly late in my life. Some forms of the disease affect much younger people and lead to very limited sight or blindness in their twenties or thirties. More information can be found on the charities web site
I recently joined a trek in Iceland organized by the RP society; the idea was to provide a challenge to partially sighted people and to raise awareness and funds for research. I joined the group very late as a replacement for someone who had had to drop out. As such I am only just getting to grips with the fund raising part of the challenge.
