Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Most of you will be aware that I am taking on the daunting challenge of running the London Marathon. Having not run a step since I was 18 and in the last year becoming a Grandmother, many of you will question the wisdom of this decision.
My training began last summer and I was confident, bright and breezy - if somewhat a little short of my 26 mile target. Since then, I have picked up a decent catalogue of injuries. Not being able to walk was one of the most problematic ailments. Whist pulling a muscle in my gluteus maximus was by far the most amusing....for others. I have had many moments where the thought of the next step is painful in itself - but there are very good reasons why I am determined to reach my goal.
My little friend Elias is 7 years old. He and his friends are fortunate to benefit from the wonderful services of Kisharon.
Kisharon provides support to hundreds of people with learning difficulties and their families. Their projects include running a nursery, the day school Elias attends and an adult day centre. Kisharon provides support for each individual to develop their potential and live a fulfilling life within the community.
At this time of budget cuts Kisharon needs all our support to ensure the provision of the vital services they offer can be maintained.
I have watched the enormous progress Elias has made thanks to the dedication of the Kisharon staff and facility. As you can see from the picture, he is a wonderful little boy with red hair and a smile which lights a hundred stars. Kisharon have made a hugely positive contribution to his development and to the life of his family.
