Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
My son and have cycled as part of a 50-strong team cycling to raise money for St John’s Church, the village parish church in Hartley Wintney, over the August Bank Holiday 2013.
We started from the town of Malle, north east of Antwerp, Belgium and cycled the 300 miles back home. The first part of the route passed just 4 miles from our past home and ended in our neighbouring village in Hampshire.
80% of the funds raised will go towards the new St John’s Church Centre building. However, from the total amount, 20% will be donated to two very special local charities, namely St Michael’s Hospice, Basingstoke, which cares for terminally ill patients across North Hampshire, and The Matthew Elvidge Trust, committed to raising awareness of depression in young adults, working with charities and universities across UK.
Your entire sponsorship money will go directly to the charities. (The ride was organised and supported by a team of volunteers, ensuring that everyone participating can raise money for the charities, rather than paying extra hundreds of pounds towards an external events management team.)
