Graduate Challenge 2013 · 20 February 2013 to 30 September 2013 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Hey all,

As you know, I'm into my sports, but unfortunately I'm not the most athletic guy around so I've decided to challenge myself to better myself whilst doing some fundraising for the Alzheimer's society!

In line with the graduate charity challenge at Lloyds Banking Group, I will be climbing 1,344m that stands as Ben Nevis during the night in a race to reach the peak for sunrise on June 21st.

I am also organising and taking part in the LBG London 10k run in July for Lloyds Banking Group in London, where 25 colleagues will be challenged to a 10k run passing some of London's most iconic tourist sites including Trafalgar Square and St' Paul's Cathedral.

The Alzheimer's Society aims to help thousands of people suffering from the illness and support those who care for them. I'll be doing these challenges to fundraise and to raise awareness for the Alzheimer's Society's 'Live Well' campaign which intends on launching the first UK wide programme for dementia carers.

I'd be grateful if you could sponsor me for these events, every little helps so please donate, even if it's just a few pounds. Here is how your money will make a difference:

£10 pays for the printing of the Carers Handbook that will be distributed as part of the Live Well programme

£100 means a carer can go to 6 hours of the Live Well programme to better understand dementia

£1000 will train a trainer to transform the lives of hundreds of carers

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Alternatively if it's more convenient you can also donate by texting "RonT 89 £2", "RonT 89 £5"  or "RonT 89 £10"  to 70070  (To donate £2, £5 or £10 respectively) - easy!

So please dig deep, donate now and help me smash my target!

Thanks guys!

Ron
