Baker Hughes 10k · 20 May 2012 ·

We support people in the north of Scotland who are affected by cancer or a blood disorder. Working hand-in-glove with the NHS, we take care of the ‘big little things’, and we fund cutting-edge equipment and research. Every penny makes an impact as our operating costs are covered by Balmoral Group.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As you are visiting my page you will have known that the past few months have been hard for my mother, me and the rest of my family and also all her friends that have been in to support her threw this tough time.

My mother Tina Fraser was diagnosed with leukaemia on Friday the 13 January 2012. This news came as a shock to us as a family as my mum was healthy at the time and we spent the last Christmas like a normal one from previous years. When I heard the news my heart sunk and I would never want anyone to be informed of the horrible news. My mum went into the hospital the Monday afterwards I knew that we had a battle on our hands me and my mum have always had a brave positive attitude in life which I believe has been in our favour in the past few months and kept us strong together against leukaemia. My mum has successfully gone through two lots of chemotherapy and is waiting to go in for her third and hopefully final amount.

My chosen charity Friends of ANCHOR operate around Aberdeen hospital. Threw raising money they help to ensure that every patient in the rooms receives the care and equipment needed to help them threw a tough time which helps make the hard times better. The nurses and doctors as well around the ward come into work with a great positive attitude and deserve a lot more recognition for their job which helps many come through cancer. I have decided to repay Friends of ANCHOR by raising funds to help other people take on cancer in the future. I am starting by running the Baker Hughes 10K on 20 May. This will be a challenge for me as I have not put on the running shoes since I left school and will have to train hard to ensure I finish the event in a good time. After the 10K I am hoping to go on and do many other fundraising events, if anyone can recommend any event please get in contact with me.

Thank you in advance to anyone who does donate I appreciate this and so does my mum Tina Fraser.

So please dig deep and donate now.
